We believe print really do matter!  If you get the digitals it doesn’t take long before they end up buried in your computer or lost in a drawer.  We have set out to change that.  We have redesigned our Portrait Pricing so that every session receives a print credit.  The print credit allows our customers the ability to purchase the prints they want in the sizes they need.  Every session will receive a web gallery where you will have the ability to purchase prints from.

DO YOU OFFER PHOTO SHOOTS AFTER 5PM?2018-09-10T14:07:47+05:00

Our office hours are 9-5pm for normal business.  We do schedule appointments for both sessions and consultations after 5pm.  We also have some availability on select Saturdays, just give us a call and we can discuss your options.

HOW DO I RESERVE SHOWALTER PHOTOGRAPHY FOR A PHOTO SHOOT?2018-09-23T22:30:21+05:00

As soon as we have decided on a date and time for your session/ event give us a call (513) 492-2470, and we will get you scheduled.  Then all you have to do is pay the deposit and you will be officially booked.

WHAT IF I LOSE MY FLASH DRIVE/ DVD?2018-09-23T22:50:10+05:00

In the case that your flash drive or DVD becomes damaged or lost, it can be replaced at a $50 per copy charge. However, we highly recommend that you make backups of your images so you can preserve them for years to come.

WHAT IS YOUR DEPOSIT & WHEN IS IT DUE?2018-09-23T22:58:29+05:00

For weddings the deposit to confirm your booking is 30 percent of the full package price (for bookings over 12 months in advance 50 percent).  The remainder is due four weeks before the wedding/event takes place.

For portrait sessions the deposit is $100.00 due at the time of your booking.  The remainder is due one week before the scheduled session date.  This way we can don’t have to think about the remaining balance anymore and can fully concentrate on the session.

DO YOU BACK UP YOUR IMAGES?2018-09-23T22:23:14+05:00

In our editing process we ensure that we have multiple copies of your images at all time. We’ll also store your images for a minimum of 90 days – 1 year (depending on the type of session), but please make sure you store them in a save place as well so you don’t lose them.  Printing the final images is of course the best way to preserve them, but we also recommend multiple copies in safe places.

All major credit and debit cards are accepted along with cash.  For easy payment of your deposit and or collections we offer a secure online payment option through PayPal.

DO YOU CHARGE TRAVEL FEES?2018-09-23T21:42:54+05:00

We want to keep it simple for you, so for most sessions there are no travel fees.  In most cases for wedding packages travel costs are included, for smaller session we normally charge travel fee if our travel time exceeds 70 miles (one way).  We will make sure that if there is a cost due to traveling, that we point it out right away so you consider it in your budgeting.

We arrange all of our meetings in person (especially for weddings) at our studio.  If it isn’t possible due to scheduling or distance we love to video chat with you.

Yes, we do!  If your venue requires special details we are happy to provide them.  Just let us know.

HOW DO YOU DESCRIBE YOUR SHOOTING STYLE?2018-09-10T13:07:03+05:00

We love candid moments and real emotion between the wonderful people we get the opportunity to photograph.  In our session we focus on interactions and try to give you as much space as possible, but of course guide you if necessary.  Standing in front of the camera is not an everyday occurrence, so we want you to be as comfortable as possible.

WHAT TYPE OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE & DO YOU CARRY BACK UPS?2018-09-10T13:02:42+05:00

We shoot with professional Canon cameras, utilize a variety of creative lenses as well as external lighting.  We always make sure to bring backup equipment in case something should fail to work as expected.  If you are interested in more details please let us know, but we rather recommend to look at our work and see if you like the results.

WILL YOU PROVIDE DIGITAL NEGATIVES (RAW FILES)?2018-09-10T13:08:11+05:00

You will be provided with the edited images only.  Each picture is carefully handled and will be a representation of our work.  Be sure to look at our portfolio and that our work and style are a good match for you.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN EDITED & RETOUCHED IMAGES?2018-09-23T22:57:59+05:00

All final images are edited for color, saturation, exposure and sharpness ensuring that each image is on its own is of the highest quality.  Retouched images can be taken a step further by clearing up blemishes, smoothing the skin, removing as much interference from the back ground as possible i.e. that sky diver that floated in just as we are capturing the perfect kiss etc.  Retouched images are transformed from great into pieces of art!

WILL I RECEIVE EVERY IMAGE YOU CAPTURE?2018-09-23T23:05:19+05:00

We go thoroughly through all the images we take during a session/ event and will take out the obviously unusable ones in a first step.  We also reduce the number of duplicates so you can enjoy only the best of the best images.

WHAT RIGHTS DO I HAVE TO THE DIGITAL IMAGES I PURCHASED?2018-09-10T13:19:19+05:00

If your selected collection includes digital files, you will receive reproduction rights to all of the images.  This gives you the right to reproduce the images for personal use.  You can use them for prints or sharing them on your social media.  Commercial use is not allowed if not separately agreed on.  The copyright of the images will with Showalter Photography.

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE ARE RUNNING LATE OR VICE VERSA, WILL YOU EXTEND THE SHOOT TIME?2018-09-23T22:48:29+05:00

It is our practice to arrive early to our shoots, as we like to scope out the surroundings and get our creative minds going.  If for some reason we are late we will do our best to extend the time or if the time is substantial and the shoot is unsuccessful we will reschedule the shoot or refund all or part of the money.  If a client is late we will do our best in the time that is remaining to get everything we need, but we cannot extend the session time for this reason.

Our portrait sessions are scheduled with adequate amounts of time to deal with be slightly late, however we always recommend that you try to show up fifteen minutes early.  We do this so people can be relaxed and enjoy the session without the need to be stressed about the time.

ARE YOU AVAILABLE TO STAY LONGER IF WE WANT TO EXTEND OUR SESSION OR EVENT COVERAGE?2018-09-10T03:02:49+05:00

Depending on our availability we can stay additional time.  The rate is depending on the kind of event we are covering and the number of photographers on site.

WILL I GET AN ALBUM WITH MY WEDDING COLLECTION?2018-09-23T23:04:09+05:00

We believe that this is so important, so we include an album with every wedding collection.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I PLAN TO SPEND, AND WHAT DOES ‘$xxx Session fee with a $xxx à la carte investment’ mean?2018-09-23T22:35:16+05:00

When budgeting for your portrait experience, you should account for both the session fee and the à la carte investment.  The final amount that you ultimately invest is entirely dependent on you, as everyone’s individual preferences for displaying their final images may vary and our services are completely customized to you and your needs.

 The ‘à la carte investment’ is the amount that you are investing into your final images at the viewing appointment.  This amount is determined in order to help our clients establish and prepare a budget for the complete experience well ahead of time.  This allows us to allocate the time and quality of service required in order to consistently deliver a unique personalized experience to every one of our clients.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEED TO RESCHEDULE MY SESSION (OR AN APPOINTMENT)?2018-09-23T22:45:14+05:00

We understand that sometimes life’s unexpected events arise that prevent us from keeping our original scheduled appointments (such as illness, travel, or other emergency situations).  If this happens, we ask that you email (info@showalterphotography.com) or call (513.492.2470) us 48 hours prior to the scheduled date in order for us to be able to reschedule your appointment.

 We are able to provide a one-time reschedule if you notify us a minimum of 48 hours prior to your appointment.  Additional reschedules will require a fee of $150 per occurrence, and are subject to schedule availability.

Your session fee is non-refundable; however, you may apply it towards your rescheduled date if completed within 6 months of the original session date.

HOW LONG WILL MY SESSION LAST?2018-09-10T13:48:21+05:00

A typical Session will last between 1 to 3 hours.  This is totally based on which collection you decide to book.

CAN I MAKE COPIES OF MY IMAGES?2018-09-23T22:13:21+05:00

All images remain property of Showalter Photography LLC, and are protected under U.S. Federal Copyright Laws.  Duplication in part or in whole (including, but not limited to, Distribution of digital images, scanning or reprinting) is strictly prohibited and may incur fines up to $10,000 per image as defined by law.

If you have purchased digital images from Showalter Photography we are granting you the ability to print and or use the images on-line.  This release in no way allows you to change the files from their original state or distribute or make copies of the digital image files.

 

YEAH, BUT WHAT ABOUT FACEBOOK?

Social Media is such an awesome place to share photos!  Please feel free to use any photos I put on Facebook [I’ll tag you] for your profile picture or wall.  You can also use any of the web rez files that you receive at your ordering appt.  I just ask that you don’t crop out our watermark/copyright & if you don’t mind trading us that would be great, Thanks!

HOW LONG DO YOU ARCHIVE/ KEEP MY IMAGES?2018-09-23T22:31:41+05:00

Non-ordered images are removed from our system the next morning following your session viewing.  We do not keep or archive any files which are not ordered at your viewing appointment.

All ordered images are archived for a period of 90 days to 1 year from the date of the viewing appointment.  The total amount of time that we archive the images is based on the collection purchased.

Wedding images are archived for 1 year from the date of your wedding.

WHAT IF THE WEATHER IS BAD ON THE DAY OF MY OUTDOOR SESSION?2018-09-10T13:51:24+05:00

On the morning of your session, we will contact you if the weather is bad (raining or heavy winds). We will simply reschedule to another day and hope that the weather cooperates.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO SCHEDULE OUR PHOTO SESSION?2018-09-10T13:52:13+05:00

I’m big on great lighting!  To get the best light, I like to schedule your session an hour or two before sunset or an hour or two after sunrise.  Mornings are also really pretty, but depending on the time of year you may have to wake up early.  Lighting plays a big part in how your photos will turn out, so make sure to schedule a good time soon.

WHEN WILL MY PICTURES BE READY FOR DELIVERY?2018-09-10T13:52:40+05:00

Depending on the year and the type of session, this answer changes. If your session is during my busy time of year (July-October) it may take 3 weeks to get your images. If you have a wedding during my busy season, the delivery is about 3 months max. In my slow season, delivery is about 1-2 weeks for portrait sessions and 6 weeks for wedding photos. I work very hard to stay within the quoted times and promise you that the pictures are definitely worth the wait!

HOW EARLY SHOULD I BOOK MY SESSION WITH YOU?2018-09-23T21:48:14+05:00

It really depends on the time of year.  If you are wanting to book in the Summer months, I’d schedule something as soon as possible since those dates book in advance and very quickly… Weekends especially!

CAN I STOP BY YOUR STUDIO ANYTIME?2018-09-23T22:14:49+05:00

At this time, we ask that you schedule your visit.  We operate by appointment only allowing us the ability to offer a boutique customer experience to every one of our clients.

CAN I USE THESE IMAGES FOR MY YEARBOOK?2018-09-23T22:21:05+05:00

Absolutely!

Any purchased image may be used in your school yearbook.  We will provide the selected image to your school or yearbook advisor in the national standard (2″x3″ 300DPI) upon completion of your order.  If you do not provide the image selections for your yearbook at the viewing appointment, we require a two-week advance notice to provide the selected image to your school.

You must provide us with the contact information and any school requirements at the viewing appointment.

These are the hours we use for email, phone calls and scheduling.  We reserve all other hours for viewings and photographing clients who have scheduled sessions or events.
